Tree finished

This morning I put the finishing stitches on the binding of my tree applique mini quilt. You can see the little tree started in this post.
I especially love the quilting on the trunk - I tried to make it look like knots in wood and I think it kind of does!
So now it is living happily on my slowly growing wall of mini quilts!
I have been very enamored with trees as of late. I think there are some more tree quilts in me to come! Actually, watch this space because I KNOW there are more to come!!

A very funky and contemporary tree in your little quilt. A good addition to your wall display.

What a great "wall of inspiration" that you have growing there. I love it!

I really like it. I'm appliqueing my first miniquilt and finding it hard to make tiny stitches to quilt it. Is yours machine quilted? I'm thinking I should not have tried hand quilting.

Sue and Pincushionpoints - I couldn't respond to you because you have your comments set to "no reply"! And I love to write back to my commenters, so I hope you are reading here. Sue, I hardly ever hand quilt now. I did hand quilt a queen size quilt once, and that was the end of that! lol! I do most of my quilting free motion on the machine:)

Yes, I am reading your beautiful blog daily now. Fabric! Quilts! My favorite things.

Have you discussed how you quilt the quilt? (Maybe in the archives, I haven't checked yet) - because I just love the way it looks. The stitches look a little like nice handquilting. Long stitches, nice thread, maybe less tension on the machine? I'm guessing here. What is your secret.

My sister got me into quilting. Now I am addicted. But she also loves applique and is always trying to get me to try. Applique and I do NOT GET ALONG. That's why I found your blog. I actually did make a small applique quilt now that I like, thank you very much! But my big handquilting stitches look like basting! Yuk, I may have to try machine quilting.

Pretty. I heart trees and love the Lorax by Dr. Seuss--he's the keeper of trees. Love the Hope Vally background fabric. At first I thought those were little appliqued flowers. Great display of little quilts.

Your tree looks great. I received inspiration from your Be Kind and made a little wall hanging of my own. Thanks!
