I did some applique!
Yes I am here. Can you believe it? And I have applique to show you. Woo Hoo!
My daughter was invited to a birthday party this weekend for a little girl in her class, Rebecca. Rebecca has cancer and as a result has hardly been in school this year. So Sofia was very excited to go to her party. We thought it would be nice to do something extra special for Rebecca, so we made her a framed letter 'R' and a matching bag. Sofia picked the fabrics, I did the sewing. It was very hard for Sofia to give the bag away - of course she wanted to keep it for herself once she saw it made up. She chose the blue/pink floral which is by Valori Wells, and I happened to have the perfect pink for the letter R, which was sent to me by Valori a few weeks ago in her giveaway. Perfect!
I also was a busy little bee making bags this weekend, but I'll save those to show you in a couple of days. I have to save something for another post, right?!
Adorable gifts, I'm sure that Rebecca must have loved them. She can enjoy them on her quiet days, too. I hope that Rebecca is doing well with her treatment.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet thing for you to do. I am sure it made her feel very special for you to make something for her.
ReplyDeleteLovely gifts and I am sure they meant the world to Rebecca and your own little girl. When my youngest son was five, his best friend got brain cancer. He battled it for 7 years before losing the battle. One year for his birthday I did a special tin of his favourite chocolate chip cookies and painted the tin with little boys fishing etc. He loved it and used to take it with him on his hospital stays filled with his treasures.
ReplyDeletewhat a great gift!!!!
