Do you ever have blogging guilt? I have a massive dose of it right now. I know it's been far too long since I blogged. I wanted to, but then a few days turned into a couple of weeks and the guilt started, and a couple of weeks turned into more, and so the cycle goes.
I have also been feeling guilty when I blog about anything other than quilting and applique, as that is the title of my blog! And since I haven't done either of the above for a few weeks, the guilt piled on. Sigh... I have even considered making another blog with just family stuff on it and having this one purely for quilting. But then I'm afraid there would be even less to blog about on here. I think I'm rambling now - just telling you all my thoughts.
I think I should get a 'Blogging Without Obligation' button like Jackie from Tallgrass Praire Studio has on her blog...she talks about it here.
OK enough of the pity party. I have actually been sewing the last couple of days, so I will finish this photo-less post and do another happy one with photos above!
Thank you so much for posting this link. Like you I haven't been into blogging lately. I always intend to do better and then I don't. :( There's always tomorrow. :D
ReplyDeletei try not to feel obliged, but it is hard. i also think about what you said, posting about other things not quilt related. i have to slap myself a bit and say it's my blog. congrats on your katie jump rope bonanza! i'm drooling over here!
ReplyDeleteHi there!
ReplyDeleteYou know as I was reading this, I thought, "I should tell her about the blogging without obligation button the Jacquie has over on her blog" and then there you were saying the same thing! It's a great idea, and I have to read it from time to time to remind myself that my blog is for me.
I actually do have two blogs right now. One for my family that is all pics all the time of the kids 'cause I know that is all they really care about, and then I have gardenymph, which was supposed to be all about all of the beautiful creative things I was going to make. But you know what? With three young kids, I don't get around to making all that much and so I just end up talking about family life.
I have been considering dropping the other blog and just directing my family to gardenymph because it is a pain to keep up with two blogs.
You have a lovely blog here and a beautiful family.
Okay, sorry for the novel! :~)
I go mental and post about 20 things in one day, and then nothing for ages. I dont think anyone actually reads it to be honest!!! however you are the only person in blogland who has ever left a comment!! I think your blog is lovely, and its nice that you put other stuff in as well. Been missing your posts of late but please dont feel guilty!!! There is enough guilt involved with just being a mother!
