I stayed up until 3 this morning to get it done, but done it is, and I am so glad I got it done before the end of the year.
This quilt has dragged on way too long. I started quilting it at 10 last night, finished that at 12, then it took me 3 hours to bind it. I have never timed myself before, and found it interesting that it takes me longer to bind a quilt than to quilt it. I would have thought the opposite was true.
All I have to say now is - ehhh - I'm not quilting again until next year!
I just love this quilt. The colors are so bright and happy. The applique is a wonderful touch. Great job! :o)

ReplyDeleteOh, good for you! A fabulous finish! I am sometimes quite quick to get a top made, but then drag out making the back, getting it quilted, and then doing something with it -- like hanging it. I am impressed that you quilt is already up and being enjoyed! So pretty!

Wow, great effort in finishing. It looks fabulous. I always fool myself by how long I think the binding takes too.

There's so much to love about this beautiful quilt that I just don't know where to start! The colors are lovely, the quilting pattern (stitching) swirls and twirls and makes me feel happy just looking at it and the applique is just the frosting on the cake.

Beautiful! I stayed up late on New Year's Eve just to finish a certain quilt before 2010. :)
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love this quilt and your color choices. Yes, binding is a process. I quilt for others and the binding is usually as much or more than the quilting price wise. I enjoyed peeking into your quilt world today, great work!
