Yes, you read it here first folks. I actually finished the top of the fruit and vege quilt! (And the crowd roars!)
Now the fun, or unfun depending on how you look at it, starts. I need to layer and baste, then quilt and bind. I think I might do some embroidery on the blocks - veins on leaves, ridges on the pumpkin etc. It can kill two birds with one stone by acting as some of the quilting too. I am just so happy with the sashing. Usually I make my blocks with no idea what I will sash them with, then spend hours auditioning fabrics to get the perfect one. It didn't happen that way with this quilt. I knew when I bought the background fabrics the exact fabric I had in my stash at home that would be perfect. It's Moda Essential Dots in Grass Green. I really love the Essential Dots line - it's such a great basic to have in your stash. There are a ton of colors to go with pretty much anything you have. No affiliation, I just love it:)
