Lemon Auditions

One of the fun parts of applique is auditioning fabrics. Tonight I started the 'auditions' for the lemon block I need to redo. Just because I used certain fabrics in the first one doesn't mean I need to use them in the second one! So here are the original fabrics (nothing is cut - everything is just folded to an approximate size)...
or perhaps a blue bowl...
then add some green for leaves...
or maybe switch the original ones around and add some green for leaves...
I'm still playing around with them and still don't know what I'm going to do...very possibly something completely different, but that's all part of the fun!

Cool!! You have a great stash to work with. Looking forward to seeing the finished block! [Let me know about the Kaffe book]

That's my favourite part of a project. Playing with fabric. In fact I love it so much I take ages coming to a decision and actually cutting into it.
You didn't ask, but I'm with Brenda and I love the black and white bowl.

One thing I noticed is the white and yellow stripe in the background might look better as a foreground lemon. You know...Art principles of dark things recede and light things come forward. Love the bottom photo with the big print for your bowl!

I like the last setting: black bowl, dark green leaves and "lemons". Enjoy plaing around!
