Phew. The room is DONE! Sure I was up until 3.30 this morning painting, and spent all day decorating it, but it was SO worth it when Sofia came home from school and saw her new room!
To remind you, here was the inspiration from Hideaway Girl...
Isn't it different?! As in, barely recognizable! Tell me, is it OK to be jealous of your 11 year old, because I really, REALLY want her room!
This was also a very cheap makeover. I added everything I bought up and the grand total was $72.50! $32 for the paint, $25 for the dry sink from the Sally Army, $7.50 for the thrifted quilt hoops and fabric, $5 for the vintage sheets I turned into curtains, and $3 for two thrifted cushions. Take that, Trading Spaces!
I struck gold yesterday at the Salvation Army. I was looking for a nightstand that I could paint white to go next to her bed, when I saw this old dry sink cupboard.
Here is Sofia when she came home and saw her room...
gawjus, gawjus, gorgeous - you clever old thing you and such a happy girl to go in it too. Oh to be single and have my own beautiful room to hide a way in - not that I want to get rid of DH, LOL
All I can say is - WOW!
Well done. You did a great job, and we can see it on Sofia's face.
Some great treasures you picked up along the way as well.
Just love it!!!
Well geez. I'm jealous too! :-)
Great job Mom! It's a beautiful re-do and your daughter is one lucky kid!
And that dry sink is a fabulous and bargain find! I too love great finds at the SA.
What a great room! Looks like your girl loves it!
I painted my bedroom the same color about a year ago. I still love, love, love it!!! The new room looks great.
Beautiful room! Im jealous too! lol
It looks amazing!!!
...so... do you fancy coming over here and helping me with my daughter's room :o)
